Di Rosa: "L'art de Vivre Nomade"

From 7 June to 20 September 2025

This summer, Château l’Hospitalet welcomes Hervé Di Rosa, co-founder of Figuration Libre, for an exhibition bursting with colour and energy: “Nomadic Art de Vivre”.

From 7 June to 20 September 2025, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in a joyful, abundant and deeply human universe, reflecting an artist who has never ceased to bring learned art into dialogue with popular art.

The artist

Di Rosa: a cultural bridge-builder

Hervé Di Rosa, born in Sète in 1959, is a leading artist of Figuration Libre, a movement he co-founded in 1981. His world, inspired by comic strips, advertising and popular culture, is distinguished by vivid colours and emblematic characters such as the “Renés”. An artistic explorer, he works across numerous techniques – painting, sculpture, ceramics, tapestry and animation – creating works around the world while incorporating local craftsmanship. A champion of “Art Modeste”, he founded the MIAM (International Museum of Modest Arts) in Sète in 2000. His work, exhibited internationally, was the subject of a retrospective at the Centre Pompidou in 2024 and is presented at the Mucem until 1 September 2025. In 2024, he joined the Painting Section of the Académie des Beaux-Arts.

A shared quest for authenticity

Hervé Di Rosa’s commitment to accessible, sincere art resonates with Gérard Bertrand’s approach as a pioneer of biodynamics and ambassador for the South. Together, they celebrate the beauty of the gesture, the richness of roots and the necessity of transmission.

“Art and wine share the ability to awaken the senses and create connection,” notes Gérard Bertrand.

Through this exhibition, visitors are offered a true celebration of the Mediterranean art de vivre.

This exhibition at Château de l’Hospitalet is far more than a simple hanging: it is a celebration of the art de vivre, of dialogue between cultures and of the passing on of knowledge. Hervé Di Rosa and Gérard Bertrand invite us on a sensory and emotional journey, where painting and wine meet in a shared quest for authenticity and connection.

An immersive exhibition inviting you on a unique artistic and sensory journey. Not to be missed!
