A duo with Eastern and poetic influences
November 6: Duo Miral invites Lina Bélaïd
Duo Miral. Climène Zarkan, a magnetic voice shaped by a childhood between Damascus and France, and Baptiste Ferrandis, a guitarist with a poetic touch, weave an intimate sound steeped in jazz, Eastern traditions, flamenco, and sound poetry. To open Mediterrajazz, they welcome cellist Lina Bélaïd, who has explored playing styles from Eastern Europe and the Maghreb.
Duo Miral began with a meeting: between Climène Zarkan, a singer, pianist, and percussionist with a
magnetic voice, who grew up between Damascus and France and moves freely between jazz and traditional
Middle Eastern music; and Baptiste Ferrandis, a refined guitarist whose writing owes as much to poetry as to
composition.
Together, they create profoundly human music that explores intimacy and emotion, where
traditional music, jazz, and sonic poetry speak to one another. Their first EP, “Horizons Roses,” six
original tracks released in November 2025, embodies this alchemy: a world of soft shadows and
fragile light, shaped by a delightfully anachronistic aesthetic in which virtuosity sends a shiver down the spine. It includes a surreal tribute to séga, a musette waltz about addiction, and a song recorded in the warmth of a kitchen on a summer evening. For Mediterrajazz’s opening night, the duo becomes a trio, joined by cellist Lina Bélaïd.
Lineup: Climène Zarkan, vocals · Baptiste Ferrandis, guitar · Lina Bélaïd, cello.

An unforgettable flamenco-jazz duo
Friday 13 November · Paloma Pradal & Matteo Michelino
Paloma Pradal weaves together her Romani heritage and Hispanic culture. A powerful flamenco voice shaped by many influences, she performs internationally and came to wider attention through The Voice. With guitarist Matteo Michelino, she presents a concert where the energy of flamenco meets the freedom of jazz.
Paloma Pradal is an artist of many talents. Born into a Romani family and steeped in Toulouse’s Hispanic culture, she carries flamenco in her voice while opening it to influences from jazz, Mediterranean music and chanson. She performs internationally, and a wider audience discovered her on The Voice.
With guitarist Matteo Michelino, she creates a sound at the crossroads of flamenco, jazz and Mediterranean music. Sung in French and Spanish, her songs explore intimacy, travel, memory and the power of life. Blending virtuosity, rapport and spontaneity, the duo presents a concert where the energy of flamenco meets the freedom of jazz, in music that is profoundly alive, sensitive and generous.
Line-up: Paloma Pradal, vocals · Matteo Michelino, guitar.

An exceptional cellist and singer
Friday, November 20 · Nesrine Solo
French-Algerian singer, cellist, and songwriter Nesrine blurs the boundaries between classical music, jazz, pop, and North African sounds. She sings in Arabic, French, and English. Her solo performance, created in 2025, brings her face to face with her instrument and her audience.
Nesrine gave her first concert at the age of six. Trained as a classical cellist, she performed under Daniel Barenboim, Lorin Maazel and Zubin Mehta before forging her own path. Her debut album, “Ahlam” (2018), was praised by The Times and topped the World Music Charts Europe. Her self-titled second album was nominated for a German Jazzpreis and took her to the Berlin Philharmonie and the Café de la Danse. Her third, “Kan Ya Makan”, was released on the ACT label in November 2024.
Along the way, she collaborated with Michel Portal, Placido Domingo, IAM, Vincent Peirani, André Manoukian,
Michael League of Snarky Puppy and Andrea Bocelli, and played the lead role in Cirque du
Soleil’s “Amaluna”. Rolling Stone describes her voice as light and airy; The Guardian evokes a musical world without boundaries.
On stage at l’Hospitalet, the setting could not be simpler: a voice and a cello. With a repertoire
reimagined for solo performance, Nesrine explores contrasts: power and fragility, the intimate and the universal, silence
and vibration. A journey where emotion takes precedence over spectacle.
Line-up. Nesrine, vocals and cello.

A rising star of vocal jazz
Friday, November 27 · Leïla Duclos Quartet
Singer, guitarist, and composer Leïla Duclos is emerging as one of the new voices of vocal jazz. With “À l’Amour et au Diable,” her second album, she reveals a free-spirited, incandescent world where scat becomes a living language and jazz a realm of passion and tenderness.
The daughter of guitarist Cyril Duclos, Leïla Duclos grew up surrounded by music, amid tours, rehearsals and encounters with fellow artists. She recorded her first song at ten, followed by her first album of original compositions at nineteen. In 2018, Raphaël Faÿs invited her to perform at the Alhambra. She also took part in Ninine Garcia’s « Héritages », alongside Liane Foly and Thomas Dutronc.
Her debut album, « Fille du feu » (2022), was a success and earned her a Révélation Jazz accolade. She went on to perform it on stages in France and abroad, with several tours across the United States and Europe. Now she returns with her second album, « À l’Amour et au Diable », a deeply personal, incandescent work recently awarded a Choc distinction by Jazz Magazine. On it, she reveals a voice unbound, moving between emotion, swing and virtuosity.
« À l'Amour et au Diable » will be released on 13 November 2026, with a launch concert at the New Morning in Paris on 20 October. It brings two opposing forces into tension: the rush of love and the shadows that follow it — doubt, vertigo and the searing ache of desire. Scat becomes an organic conversation with the instruments. Accompanied by an exceptional quartet, Leïla Duclos closes Mediterrajazz in November with incandescent jazz led by her voice.
Line-up: Leïla Duclos, guitar and vocals · Léandro Aconcha, piano · Gilles Coquard, bass · Jean-Marc Robin,
drums.
