Christian Lapie’s Orion Constellation
Unfamiliar with the region’s landscapes, Christian Lapie was quickly captivated by the magic of the place, the beauty of its vistas and its biodynamic philosophy. He sensed a profound connection between the vine, human endeavour and the heavens. Thus was born the project to install his monumental figures at Château l’Hospitalet.
In the outdoor spaces, he installs groups of sculptures or solitary figures
that transform the viewer’s gaze and convey a sense of serenity.
His exhibition, entitled "The Orion Constellation", invites visitors to reflect on their place in the universe and to appreciate the beauty and fragility of the world.

About Christian Lapie
Christian Lapie is a French painter and sculptor from the Reims region.
Inspired by the nature of Champagne, he turned to sculpture after a journey to the Amazon in the 1990s, using solid oak to create imposing vertical silhouettes.
His works, devoid of arms and faces, question identity and humanity. Installed in public and natural settings, they engage powerfully with their surroundings.
Exhibited worldwide, his sculptures feature in numerous public and private collections, and he has completed several public commissions.

Winner of the gold medal at the 2020 Wine Tourism Trophies in the Art and Culture category, Château l'Hospitalet is the ideal place to savour the L'Art de Vivre of southern France.
